My comment:
"Be alert to the possible downsides" of technology.... He doesn't seem very much alert to the possible downsides of vaccines, and I'm not referring only to adverse reactions, but to the potential for eugenic or evilgenic manipulation. Which need not be only "unintended negative consequences". Such selective insights.
Overall, Neal Stephenson seems to be living in some virtual reality world, as far as these technologies are concerned.
