Riofrío es una novela de no ficción de Santiago Muñoz Machado, eminente abogado y profesor de derecho, sobre un importante caso judicial del famoso juez Baltasar Garzón—un largo proceso de instrucción en el que Garzón intentó empapelar a una serie de inversores que iban desde Berlusconi hasta Miguel Durán. Fue un macroproceso pésimamente instruido, pero muy bien filtrado a la prensa, que duró casi diez años, y en el que el autor actuó como abogado defensor de los encausados. Comentamos aquí el retrato que da el libro de la corrupción en la el sistema judicial español, visto desde el interior.

'Riofrío': Who Will Judge the Judge

Riofrío' is a 'factional' novel by Santiago Muñoz Machado, an eminent lawyer and jurist, on a important judiciary case involving the famous judge Baltasar Garzón—a lengthy judiciary investigation in which Garzón tried to convict a number of investors ranging from Berlusconi to Miguel Durán. It was a macro-case, poorly instructed but very efficiently leaked to the press, which lasted for nearly ten years, with the author acting as an attorney for the defendants. This paper comments on the book as an insider's portrait of judiciary corruption in the Spanish judiciary system.
