Micromotivos, retroalimentación, y fenómenos emergentes

Comentario sobre la noción de micromotivos de Thomas Schelling, retomada por Malcolm Gladwell y Steven Pinker, rastreando sus antecedentes intelectuales en otras teorías clásicas sobre la emergencia de la complejidad. Esta surge de la interacción contingente de relaciones causales múltiples y dispersas, que dan lugar a procesos regulares retroalimentativos. Destacamos a Lucrecio y a Herbert Spencer como autores de cruciales teorías sobre la emergencia del orden no guiado por la intencionalidad, que podría también llamarse "diseño no inteligente".

Micromotives, Feedback Loops, and Emergent Phenomena

A commentary on Thomas Schelling's notion of micromotives, recenly taken up by Malcolm Gladwell and Steven Pinker, tracing its intellectual background in other classical theories of the emergence of complexity. This arises from the contingent interaction of multiple and disperse causal relationships, giving rise to interactive feedback loops of regularity. Lucretius and Herbert Spencer are singled out as prime theorists of the doctrine of the emergence of order without a guiding intention, which might also be called 'unintelligent design'.
