Narrative Anchoring. This is a preliminary approach to the notion of narrative anchoring, a narratological concept necessary to theorize the relationship between individual narratives or local processes and great narratives or large-scale processes, whether historical, evolutionary, or cosmic. Narratives
are spontaneously interpreted in this relational sense with reference to larger narratives or cognitive schemata of large-scale processes, maps of time, or frames organizing the historicity of events. The concept of narrative anchoring is differentiated from the wider concept of discursive anchoring.
