To Keep on Keeping on

—according to G. H. Mead's Mind, Self, and Society:

"We always present ourselves to ourselves in the most favourable light possible; but since we all have the job of keeping ourselves going, it is quite necessary that if we are to keep ourselves going we should thus present ourselves to ourselves."  (307)
