Wish I Were There

CENTRE FOR NARRATIVE RESEARCH

Narrative Research at UEL: Multidisciplinary Perspectives
Wednesday, September 21
Docklands Campus, East Building
2pm – 4pm, Room EB G.11

Have you heard the word ‘narrative’ used a lot, and wondered what it really meant? Do the stories people tell play an important part in your research? Do you think that you might like to try a new methodology in which listening to stories plays an important role? Do you already consider yourself a narrative researcher? Do you not really have a particular interest in narrative, but want to meet colleagues from different schools in an informal setting, where conversation and wine will be in abundance? If your answer is yes to any of these questions, please come to the first event of the year organised by the Centre for Narrative Research.

The University of East London is home to many narrative researchers, across a number of different schools and disciplines. Here, we celebrate a multidisciplinary approach to a methodology whose history extends from the ancient Greek philosophers into our present time, where its appeal in academia, the media, and even the public imagination, continues to grow.

Come and join us to listen to brief presentations of narrative research from across the university:

Dave Harper, Ian Tucker, and Darren Ellis (Psychology and Psychosocial Studies)
Susannah Radstone (Cultural Studies)
Jo Finch (Social Care)
Abioloa Ogunsola (Education)
Giorgia Dona (Refugee Studies)

To be followed by open discussion and drinks reception
